DO YOU HAVE A CODE OF CONDUCT?

Yes we do.

Adult Riding Clubs are volunteer organisations where like minded people join together to achieve common goals and to organise safe and enjoyable equestrian related activities for riders.

Pivotal therefore to the success of Ceduna Equestrian Club (CEC), is the maintenance of harmonious relations between club members and organisers. Such harmonious relations will only be achieved in an environment where people treat each other with respect.

Our Club Code of Conduct is included in the Members Handbook

DO YOU HAVE GEAR RULES?

CEC do not have Gear Rules for non-competition events. HRCAV Rules will apply at any competition held by CEC, and you can check these by clicking here.

The Club will not perform gear checks prior to Club Days or events. Riders are responsible for ensuring their own and their horse’s equipment is in a safe condition and fit for its purpose. The Club does not check that you are compliant. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are; and are therefore covered for insurance.

It is expected that riders will at all times whilst mounted wear a current Australian standard riding helmet and suitable boots which should be smooth - soled and have a small heel.

The above two requirements are usual within all equestrian clubs/events. Your Club insurance will not cover you if you do not comply with these simple rules.

In addition all gear must be:
i.  Safe.
ii.  In good order with no worn parts making the gear unsafe.
iii.  Comfortable for the horse.
iv.  Fitted correctly and used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
v.  Appropriate for the activity.

There must be no restrictions or attachments of any kind to a bit or item of saddlery likely to wound the horse.

The Club do produce a Members Handbook which includes a Gear Guide to assist members in making informed decisions about gear fit and suitability.

WHAT IS HRCAV?

The Ceduna Equestrian Club is affiliated with the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV). HRCAV currently has 227 member Clubs with 5800 individual members spread across Victoria and parts of New South Wales and South Australia. The HRCAV caters for a wide range of riders who enjoy the social aspect of Club membership as well as access to the extensive competition system.

HRCAV Clubs are where you can join like minded riders for social activities, lessons/rallies or competition. The HRCAV caters for beginner riders’ right through to experienced competitors with a level assessment system that ensures that you will compete against others of similar experience and ability. Should you wish to compete and therefore require level assessment, the Club can make enquiries on your behalf to find an assessor for you.

HRCAV membership through CEC provides our members with 24/7 insurance cover for Personal Accident* whilst riding as well as Public & Association Liability Insurance.

WHAT ARE THE UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS?

CEC’s Club colours are Cadbury Purple, Black & White.

Our casual uniform comprises of the following colours Cadbury Purple, Black & White. Members are not limited to a specific uniform but can choose whatever they would like (ie. vest or jumper and shirt etc) so long as the colours are purple, black and/or white. It is not mandatory to wear a casual uniform to Club Days, although members are encouraged to present themselves and their mounts with pride for all Club events.

Members wishing to represent the club at official events must wear the clubs official uniform which requires a logo to be displayed (either on the upper body or the saddle blanket) on the official uniform. While the Official Uniform is not required for club rallies, members are more than welcome to make the effort and wear the official uniform as they wish.

Details on the official uniform are covered in the Members Handbook available on payment of your membership.
